Services

Consumer research

With knowledge in a variety of design research methods, Iris offers her expertise to companies who are on mission to build a customer centric business. By facilitating generative sessions she derives actionable insights about consumers’ needs, pain points, and preferences that you won’t get by doing ordinary interviews.

Workshop facilitation

When designing and facilitating workshops for multidisciplinary thinkers Iris assures all fundamental insights are being captured. By organizing people's thoughts and constructing a clear overview she is able to translate complex ideas into a language everyone involved can build upon.

Strategic session

Iris offers a strategic but creative approach to problem solving by introducing tools for firing up the right side of the brain and adding structure to brainstorms and ideation sessions. All interesting thoughts and ideas are captured and mapped into clear, simple, digestible nuggets.

Concept design

Whether the desired outcome will be a product, a service, an interface or something else, Iris develops a clear vision & direction of the desired user experience. From leading user experience research, testing processes and aligning stakeholders, Iris derives ideas and requirements which she translates into concepts and prototypes.

Design Led innovation

Gaining a deeper understanding of users, their lives, and aspirations, is key for developing successful propositions and innovations. Activities in the (fuzzy) front end of the innovation process are often difficult to anticipate, overview and perform because of its ambiguity. Iris carefully guides both stakeholders and users in co-creation sessions to effectively generate ideas and map underlying difficulties. By connecting the dots Iris creates structure in the creative process and generates a variety of user centered solutions.

Online course design & development

Successful online education requires substantial groundwork before launching. With experience in creating and developing online formats for both Masterclasses & MOOCs, Iris offers a full-range of services to help you get from an idea to a finished product.

What People Are Saying

  • Iris Slappendel - IRIS Cycling Apparel

“For our brand of women’s cycling apparel Iris has conducted a thorough user research. She developed a creative customer survey booklet and facilitated a 3-hour co-creation session. Iris did great identifying with our customers and getting the most out of the project. Not only has this proven to be a fun way to interact with our target group, we’ve also learned a lot about them, how they envision the perfect cycling product and how they look at themselves as cyclists.

Iris has a very creative way of approaching such a casus, is fast, works thoroughly, is very flexible and always shows a motivated and positive spirit. It’s always a joy working with her!.”

  • Martijn Linden - blackdiamondequipment.com

“Iris brought a great energy and new point of view to the apparel design team as we were trying to figure out how to have our space reflect the way we worked better. Iris managed this project, developed a clear point of view out of interviews she conducted, and then visually sold the management team on her conclusions through an actual scale model of the new space! She also assisted in daily tasks as they came up, helping the team complete tech packs and color during crunch time. We all really enjoyed working with Iris and will miss her positive energy!”

  • Jaap Daalhuizen - TU Delft

“Iris is a pro-active and very skilled designer that delivers high quality results. As a core member of the team that developed the Delft Design Approach MOOC for the TU Delft, Iris made sure we were getting things done and contributed to a fun and motivating work environment!”
